Sandsides Guest House located in Whitley Bay is a beautiful Victorian building and we offer you a home from home bed and breakfast accommodation. It’s traditional English character and ideal location, a short distance from Newcastle upon Tyne city centre it is ideal for business people working in the area or holiday-makers looking for a quieter alternative to the busy city.

With direct connections from Newcastle International Airport and Newcastle Central Station Station, we are in the perfect place by the beach.

All room rates include a delicious home-cooked or continental breakfast. There are flat-screen TVs with DVD players in all rooms, and secure WiFi available on request. Flexible check-in and check-out times are can be arranged at the time of booking.

Our guest rooms include:

  • One Family Room – en suite sleeping four with a double and two single beds
  • One Super King or Twin Room – en suite sleeping two
  • One Single Room – with private shower room

Booking Information

A non refundable deposit of £10 per person is required for all reservations. Your reservation is not confirmed until we have been able to process your deposit payment. If your card details are incorrect or declined then we will contact you on the contact details you provide but reserve the right to cancel your reservation if we are unable to contact you. Contact us by telephone if you would like to enquire about a child sharing a double room with 2 adults. For security reasons you will be asked to provide some card details at check in.

Smoking : Please note that for the benefit of all of our guests Sandsides Guest House is non smoking. If you smoke in a bedroom during your stay then a £100.00 charge will be made to your card.

Please check your confirmation email is correct and bring it with you when you come to check in with us.

Cancellations : Please note that all deposits are non refundable but if you do have to cancel please give as much notice as possible.

“Not usually a B&B kind of person and previously stayed at a poor B&B in Lincolnshire but needed somewhere in Whitley Bay for the night so I could visit family, so reluctantly looked at B&B options…

Couldn’t have asked for a warmer reception when I arrived, a true home from home, where you are invited to use all the house as you need it. Rebecca clearly has a passion for this B&B and it shows!

I stayed in the newly refurbished Room 1, single room. The room had everything you’d need for an overnight stay and although it is on the small side this didn’t bother me. What I really liked about this room is although you didn’t have your own en-suite, you had access to your own private bathroom which is so close it feels like it’s en-suite!

Nice touches such as fresh milk, bottled water, toiletries and shortbread were left in my room.

Was given a key so could come and go as I pleased, proved a fantastic base for the day/evening.

Breakfast the next day was perfect, you could help yourself to cereals, fruit juices and infused water; cucumber & mint, really refreshing start to the day! I had a full English breakfast which was cooked beautifully and chatted to Rebecca and her lovely mum! It’s so nice to actually see the passion and work that has gone into this B&B, clearly take such pride in their B&B and rightly so!

I can’t say enough how wonderful this place is, so close to the beach, shops and restaurants (all within walking distance), incredibly friendly and warm, very family orientated.

I will definitely be returning when I’m up visiting family, highly recommended! Thank you for a very lovely stay!”
